Drawing on first-hand experience in UHNW family operations, art, and culture, BAWT offers thoughtful reporting, practical insight, and intelligent perspective on the people, places, and ideas shaping life today.

BAWT was founded by Anita Rogers, founder of British American Household Staffing and Anita Rogers Gallery, and Elizabeth Thompson, Director of Anita Rogers Gallery. Together, they bring decades of experience spanning private households, entrepreneurship, family life, art, culture, and the practical realities of living well, informing a publication that is both useful and intellectually curious.

Meet the Founders

Anita Rogers

Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Anita Rogers is the founder of British American Household Staffing, the leading domestic staffing and childcare agency globally, based in the US, UK and Middle East. She is also the founder of  Anita Rogers Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in New York active in both the primary and secondary markets.

Anita is British-born and is the daughter of fine artist Jack Martin Rogers and Dasa Rogers, a French-trained chef. As a child, she travelled with her father for his work and was raised on the Greek islands, as well as in Turkey, Ireland, and England. A trained opera singer and harpist, she trained in Italy and London, and performed in Italy, Ireland, Greece, and England before moving permanently to New York. She was later adopted by Martin A. Cohen, her second father, and a world-renowned scholar of history. Anita divides her time between New York, London, and Greece.

Elizabeth Thompson

Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Originally from California, Elizabeth was raised between New York City and Bermuda. She studied Art History and French at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, before beginning her career in the New York art world, where she worked in galleries in SoHo and Chelsea for five years before joining Anita Rogers Gallery in 2016. Elizabeth has served as Director alongside Anita Rogers since the gallery's inception. In 2020, Elizabeth began working with Anita on the British American Household Staffing weekly newsletter, which they have continued to develop since, covering subjects ranging from family life and education to travel, culture, household management, and current affairs for BAHS clients and readers. She lives and works in New York City and spends time each summer on the Greek island of Ikaria with her husband.
